19th Century Chinese Rosewood Low Table
Available at our Livernois Store Location - (313) 345-0884. 19th Century Chinese Rosewood and Marble Inset Low Table or Stand. This nice old table made in China was a typical form designed to appeal to both Chinese buyers and to export to the west in the late 19th century. Made of dense rosewood heavily carved, the design consists of dragon heads at the top of the legs surrounded on the pierced apron with foliage and flowers. The top is inset with marble and was most commonly used in its day as a stand for a fish bowl or large container for plants. The whole is set upon legs terminating in dragon clawed feet with raised borders. All in the original finish and polish the piece is a fine old example of its form intact and ready to use as a stand or as a low table for today's modern needs.
