04/08/14 - Let's face it...The winter season has hung around too long. When the warm sunshine of Spring approaches, Fred intends to get the most out of it. But just because he occasionally sets up shop outdoors, doesn't mean that the daily chaos of our business takes a break. If you ever happen to witness what goes on around our Warren Store, you'll quickly realize that Fred's cell phone never stops ringing at all hours of the day and night. Yes, even the Easter Bunny stopped by for a word with Fred recently, but had to patiently wait for another important business phone call to end.
02/07/14 - When we say there's no room for everything here, we mean it. Recently, we've been doing hotel liquidations and hundreds of rooms of good quality used hotel furniture have been streaming into our Warren store. We've already packed every building we own on 8 Mile Road to maximum capacity. We've even leased a nearby storage facility and also a 10,000 sq. ft. building in Livonia. We've now resorted to renting these 8 x 8 x 40 storage pods. At the moment, there's 5 of these big pods on the property and even they are completely full. A lot of people may think it's madness, but one of the rules of our business is to never miss out on good opportunities to acquire good quality furniture that we can sell later on. Plus, we never want to disappoint the hotels who count on us to occasionally do what would otherwise be impossible for anyone else. It's just another day in the chaotic world that is Fred's Unique Furniture.
01/08/14 - Fred's Furniture's Webmaster Craig and Co-Webmaster Diane just added a another new puppy to the family. She's a 2 month old miniature pedigree French Poodle that unfortunately doesn't have a name yet. We're toying with the names Teagan, Bijou and Summer, among others. The good news is that Athena (part Papillion and Bischon) seems to be comfortable and relatively accepting around her new friend. She probably should be as Athena already is at her adult weight of 10 pounds and her new friend will eventually get slightly larger than Athena when she's full grown. It's only been one day, so let's give it some time and see. Update 1/22/14: The new puppy's name is Heidi. Basically, the dog named herself. We were trying out different names that weren't going to be our first choice and when we said "Heidi," she instantly responded to it.
