05/24/13 - Fred's Unique Furniture is pleased to announce the opening of the new Vintage Jewelry & Accessories website gallery. You're going to enjoy browsing through some of the interesting and unique items you'll find inside. We're going to make an extra special effort to make this new gallery fun and enjoyable for you. The introduction of this new Gallery also represents the beginning phase of a new expansion of our website to include smaller items. This expansion poses a challenge for us as, up until now, it's been easy for us to lose track of smaller items once they have been photographed and placed online. We now have a special location inside our store that we are setting aside for the smaller vintage jewelry items placed on our website. To better insure that the smaller jewelry items are indeed available when you see them online, this area will not open routinely for general public browsing. For that reason, we request that you call the Warren Store before stopping by and we will have the item(s) of interest ready for you when you arrive. We will be fine tuning and adding many more items to this Gallery over the coming weeks, so stay tuned. In the meantime, click here to check out the new Vintage Jewelry & Accessories Gallery.
05/23/13 - Fred's Unique Furniture is proud to be able to provide furniture production assistance to nearly every major movie and TV show filmed in the Detroit area. Our stores have become regular stops for nearly all the set decorators and producers for these major undertakings. Hundreds of furniture items, lighting, accent pieces and art from our stores are presently on the sets of 2 major productions. The first is Low Winter Sun; an exciting new AMC Channel original series debuting in August. The other is the much talked about Hollywood motion picture How To Kill a Monster, directed by Ryan Gosling. We are very excited to be working closely with both of these productions. The picture above is from the set being constructed for a "bordello scene" in Low Winter Sun. Looks like a perfect setting for drama and intrigue. Click here for a sneak peek at this promising new Detroit-based drama. We're definitely looking forward to the series debut of Low Winter Sun in August and the release of How To Kill A Monster next year when we'll get a chance to see a lot of our stuff appearing in many scenes. Many of these production furniture pieces will be returning to our stores, so those of you looking for items with a unique history will have an opportunity to purchase them. Thanks especially to Kim Thrasher, Set Coordinator, Low Winter Sun and Lisa Morgan, Set Coordinator, How To Kill A Monster. Best of luck to you and your productions from Fred and all of us at Fred's Unique Furniture.
05/18/13 - For those of you that have visited our Warren Store, you know that our store is a chaotic place where customers, our workers and furniture are constantly moving into and out of our buildings. It's not the kind of place that you would ordinarily think of as a great place to meet close friends, relax and maybe have a few drinks.... But... then again.... We ARE a "Unique" place... This photo was taken on a busy Saturday afternoon when a group of girls had suddenly arrived from Toledo and asked if they could use an area of our upstairs showroom to hang out, party, shop and basically celebrate the upcoming wedding of their close friend. We quickly moved some furniture around and made sure they were comfortable. In the middle of all this, we had a fairly large group of customers browsing, some Hollywood set decorators choosing furniture for a TV show and the never-ending crazy hustle and bustle of furniture being moved into and out of the store. Somehow, everything seemed to work out well gauging from the smiles and good cheer. Fred and all of us at Fred's Unique Furniture want to pay tribute and give thanks to the adventurous spirit of these fine ladies in choosing our store to be host to an important and what turned out to be a fun-filled event. We sincerely appreciate you for letting us be a part of it. The red carpet will always be here for any of you.
